TEMA: Tobago Not Yet In The Clear After Last Month’s Oil Spill

Authorities in Tobago say they are still on alert for any spill over of hydrocarbons, despite a noticed ‘de-escalation’ of activities around affected coastlines.

Director of the Tobago Emergency Management Agency, Allan Stewart, said a different type of clean-up has started without the use of heavy equipment, which involves power washing of rocks to flush out any remaining hydrocarbon.

However, he said they have not let their guard down until the all-clear is given.
