2023 Pan African Festival Launched

2023 marks 185 years of freedom.

In commemoration of this landmark celebration, the Emancipation Support Committee of Trinidad and Tobago, officially launched its list of events for the Pan African Festival.

Dubbed “the greatest celebration of Africa outside of Africa,” this year’s celebration begins on Sunday May 28th and will continue until Emancipation Day on August 1st.

Executive Chair of the Emancipation Support Committee Zakiya Uzoma-Wadada revealed that this year, a very special visitor will grace our shores during the festival, the 16th Asantehene of Ghana.

Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and the Arts, Simone Thorne-Mora Quinones, said the Ministry is pleased to support these celebrations for another year.

The theme of this year’s celebrations is ‘Creating Opportunities To Achieve Our Full Potential.’
