Fifty five persons have been arrested over the past months relating to gang-involved home invasions.
On TTT’s NOW Morning Show, Acting Commissioner of Police Mc Donald Jacob said there has been an increase in the use of violence and brutality by robbers, although there has been a decrease in reports.
ACP Jacob said the Northern and Central Divisions have recorded the highest number of reports, pinpointing the communities of Malabar, Arima, La Horquetta, Enterprise, Edinburgh 500, and some areas in Couva as the most affected. He advised people to exercise heightened vigilance to protect themselves and their properties.
