Commonwealth Youth Games Round-Up: Day 2 – T&T’s Nikolai Blackman Wins Gold In The Pool

Let’s take a look at Team Trinidad and Tobago’s performance on Day 2 of the Commonwealth Youth Games that are happening on our shores.

In the sport of triathlon, in the Individual Super Sprint Distance for girls, Jenae-Marie Price was 13th overall in the competition held at the Buccoo Beach Facility, finishing with a time of 37 minutes nd 22 seconds.

The winner overall was Aspen Anderson of Australia with a time of 32 minutes and 53 seconds.

Among the boys, Liam D’ Abadie was our best finisher in 18th place, finishing in 33 minutes and 33 seconds , his teammate James Castagne Hay was 25th overall in 42 minutes and 28 seconds.

The winner was Luke Holmes of Jersey in 29 minutes and 47 seconds

Our girls and boys Rugby Sevens teams had a tough first day with the boys losing to Fiji 51-0, and South Africa 59-0. The girls went down to Australia 71-0, and Fiji 54-0.

And in some Breaking News from the pool, Nikolai Blackman has won Trinidad and Tobago’s first Gold Medal of the Commonwealth Youth Games!

Nikolai competed in the 200 Metre Freestyle, out swimming the competition in 1.49.94 seconds. Congratulations Team T&T!
