6% Wage Increase For WITCO Workers

The West Indian Tobacco Company Ltd (WITCO) and the Seamen and Waterfront Workers’ Trade Union (SWWTU) finalised Collective Bargaining Agreements for the 2023 to 2025 period – with a 6% wage increase for both hourly-rated workers and monthly-rated staff.

The signing took place on Friday, July 28th.

In a statement on Wednesday, WITCO said the negotiations occurred over a two-month period and were focused on balancing adjustments in both wages and benefits. This was inclusive of but not limited to enhancements in health benefits, as well as gradual increases in allowances and premiums.
