Minister of Energy and Energy Industries, Stuart Young, has advocated for the use of natural gas and energy security at the 7th Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) Summit in Algiers, the Democratic Republic of Algeria on Friday.
In his address, Minister Young said it is incumbent upon gas exporting countries to raise their voices globally in the conversation of energy security and food security, and to demand the ability and the opportunities to utilise sovereign resources, and to work together not only in the promotion of the use of natural gas, but also for the countries to work together to exploit their own gas resources.
Minister Young urged the leaders to come together to render assistance to the African continent for the independent development of their own resources to give themselves energy security.
