Aleena Edwards was in winner’s row once again when she captured the Insurance Company of the West Indies Silverbowl at the National Racquet Centre last weekend.
In the Semi Finals, the 12-time National Champion showed that despite her now veteran status she was still the force to be reckoned with as she defeated former T&T number one Linda Partap in three sets to book her spot in the final.
Awaiting her in the Final would be her niece, Imani Edwards Taylor, who got the better of her national teammate Priyanka Khellewan by three sets to two.
In the all family affair Final, Aleena would get the better of Imani in four sets. Aleena took the the first two games 11-5 before losing the third 5-11, winning the fourth 13-11 in the tie breaker to be crowned champion.
