The penultimate round of the Ascension Football Tournament kicked off last night with a double header at the La Horquetta Recreation Grounds.
In the night’s first encounter, AC POS defeated Cunupia FC 3-1. The North Central battle was a come from behind victory for AC POS as Cunupia had taken a 43rd-minute lead. But a Sedale McLean quick fire double in the 62nd and 64th minute saw led the way for the winners who are 6th on the league table.
In the second game on the night, League champs Terminix La Horquetta Rangers topped Deportivo Point Fortin by 3-1.
Rangers opened their account in the 12th minute through Kadeem Corbin before Ataullah Guerra doubled that lead in the 32nd, and a 47th minute Tyrone Charles goal sealed their team’s 14th win of the season.
Akeem Redhead got a consolation for Deportivo in the 74th minute.
