Cocoyea Swimming Pool Reopens

After being closed for four years, the Cocoyea Swimming Pool Facility has finally been reopened to the public.

San Fernando East MP, Brian Manning, said the facility was closed in 2018 due to several issues, including a major algae problem. He added that there were also delays during the pandemic, but assured all constituents that the facility has now been reopened.

The facility was originally opened in August 2007 by the then San Fernando East MP and Prime Minister Patrick Manning. His son, now MP for the area, said it was a proud moment to have the facility reopened.

Repairs to the facility were done in two phases at a cost of $1.1 million, including repairs to the pump room, bleachers, and roof.
