Colombia Gifts Cultural Mural To T&T

Colombia and Trinidad and Tobago share an enduring relationship. This, from Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, Dr. Amery Browne, who delivered remarks at the launch of a mural gifted to the City of Port of Spain by Colombia.

The mural, which honours the friendship between the people and Governments of Colombia and Trinidad and Tobago, was created by artist Tinta del Rio on a wall at the Abercromby Street Arcade of the National Library of Trinidad and Tobago (NALIS).

During his brief address at the launch, Dr. Browne said the two nations celebrated 54 years of diplomatic relations earlier this year, and it is his hope the two countries maintain a bond.

Port of Spain Mayor Joel Martinez, who was on hand for the unveiling of the mural, thanked the Colombian Ambassador of Trinidad and Tobago, Ambassador of Colombia Martha Cecilia Pinilla-Perdomo, for including Trinidad and Tobago in their National Day celebrations by way of the gift of a mural depicting this country’s history.

Mayor Martinez said NALIS is the perfect place for the artwork.
