Commonwealth Youth Games Round-Up: Day 3 

Trinidad and Tobago’s athletes continue to bring glory to the red, white, and black in the pool, the track, and the field.

At the National Aquatic Centre in Balmain, Couva, Nikoli Blackman topped the rostrum for the second time in two days when he swam to Gold in the Men’s 100 Metre Freestyle in 49.60 seconds.

Scotland’s Matthew Ward was second to the TTO swimmer in 50.26 seconds, Marvin Johnson Jr of the Bahamas took Bronze in 50.41 seconds.

Zarek Wilson was also in winners’ row in Balmain after he took Silver in 26.18 seconds in the Men’s 50 Metre backstroke behind Matthew Ward who set a Junior Games record to take Gold in 25.51. Nigel Forbes of the Bahamas was third in 26.32 seconds.

At the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Jenae De Gannes won Silver in the Women’s Long Jump with a leap of 6.07 metres on Day One of Track and field.

On the track, Sanna Frederick took Bronze in the Women’s 100 Metres in a time of 11.48 seconds.
