One man is dead and another injured following a shooting incident on Quarry Street, Laventille on Friday.
At around 1pm, a volley of gunshots was heard throughout the East Port of Spain area. Police reports say two men were taken to hospital where one man, identified as 38 year old Claude Sandy aka Midget of East Dry River, Port of Spain, succumbed to his injuries.
Mr. Sandy was found on the steps leading to his home by residents. The other victim who was with Mr. Sandy at the time of the shooting was hit in the leg. He was treated and has since been discharged from hospital.
Separately, a teenager has appeared before the Juvenile Court in Fyzabad charged with murder.
According to police reports, 44 year old Tyrell Karim also known as “Coke” of Morne Diablo, was shot and killed along the roadway at Lammy Trace on April 6th. The suspect was arrested in connection with the matter on Friday April 12th.
The minor was also charged with Possession of Firearm and Possession of Ammunition, when he appeared before Justice Jack, on Thursday
