Debate On Revenue Authority Continues

Revenue collection is a fundamental contract between the Government and the governed.

That’s according to Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Pennelope Beckles. As debate on the Trinidad and Tobago Revenue Authority Bill, 2021 continued in the House of Representatives, the Minister said in exchange for revenue obtained from taxation, the State, managed by the Government, provides the citizen with services that redound to their benefit.

Meanwhile MP for Princes Town, Barry Padarath, echoed similar sentiments of his colleagues. He said they have a problem with the structure of the proposed Revenue Authority.
