Defence Force and Silvo Academy won the Women’s and Men’s sections of the Police Rugby Section Sevens Tournament at the Phase 2 La Horquetta Ground on the weekend.
The Defence Force Women ran unbeaten to the title and without conceding.
The Army beat T&T’s Under-18s 41-0 while Police also prevailed over the National Youth team 12-10
But the Defence Force were just too good on the day and easily got past their Protective Service counterparts 37-0, Police finishing runners-up.
Silvo Academy were also unbeaten all day winning 24-5 against Police, 24-10 over Caribs and 10-0 over the T&T U-18 men. They then got past Defence Force 10-7 in the play off and finally overcame the mighty Northerns 17-12 in the final, Defence Force finished the tournament in third position.
