Discussions On Intra-Regional Ferry Service Underway

Arrangements for the operationalisation of an Intra-Regional Ferry Service are finally underway, after many years of conceptualisation by the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).

This according to a media release by the Ministry of Works and Transport which confirmed that on Thursday, Minister of Works and Transport Rohan Sinanan hosted a meeting with a team of high powered officials to discuss the project.

The main objective of the ferry service is to promote regional food security by having the free movement of agricultural goods and services throughout the Region.

The meeting also focused on the issues surrounding possible pre-clearance in the three areas of customs, immigration and plant quarantine.
