A one-of-a-kind Marketplace that boasts of offering its customers locally-produced artisan foods was launched in San Fernando on Thursday.
Managing Director of Eat It Marketplace, Lester Applewhite, said the Covid-19 pandemic enabled the business to restructure its plans and develop two new entities, one of which is the Marketplace.
San Fernando Mayor Junia Regrello congratulated Mr. Applewhite for dreaming big and taking risks. He said through education, there are a variety of tools that can be used to make the business successful.
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Ayleen Ovid, commended the Eat It team for its vision, adding that the Marketplace resonates with the region’s thrust to reduce its Food Import Bill by 25% by 2025.
