Law Association: Opposition Leader’s Statements “Regrettable”

The Law Association of Trinidad and Tobago has referred to as “regrettable,” statements made by Leader of the Opposition following the Association’s recent Special General Meeting, during which a vote of no confidence in Attorney General Reginald Armour was defeated.

In a statement issued on Friday, the Association said the public attack by Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar, who was an attendee at the meeting, is censorious and unwarranted.

The Law Association said its meetings are private, and it is surprised and disappointed that the Opposition Leader made public how members indicated they were going to vote.

LATT said it stands firm in carrying out its duties and reminded that it is not a political party nor are their objectives a political one.
