Carenage Blasters 2 underlined their dominance of the Magic Mist Table Tennis Spin Cup Series with a straight-forward victory in the title decider.
Playing against QPCC 1 in the Final, the Blasters trio of Gabriel John, Luc O’Young, and Abhai Lal secured a three games shut-out.
John faced QPCC’s Javier King and won in straight sets 11/8, 15/13, 11/9.
O’Young won his first set against Abraham Francis 11/6, lost the second 11/7, but picked up the next two 11/5, 11/9 to win three sets to 1.
Lal had the sternest test after winning the first two sets 11/9, 12/10 but lost the next two 11/8, 11/9 before claiming the last 11/6 and with it the 2023 title.
O’Young won all 11 matches he contested and was named tournament MVP.
Blasters 1 finished third with a 3-0 sweep of WASA 1.
Jamali Mauge beat Riad Abasali three sets to two.
Nicholas O’Young beat Jean Marc Lee Fai three love, and Nikoli Barbour Alexis won 3/1 to claim Bronze.
