It’s a nasty hazard for pedestrians – missing manhole covers along the pavements which make walking a real danger.
This is the opinion of one resident who called TTT’s Newsroom on Tuesday to report the missing covers in her neighbourhood, outside Long Circular Mall.
She adds that she reported the missing covers several times to the Port of Spain City Corporation but got no response. Her request is that the hole be blocked or in some way be flagged to alert pedestrians of the danger.
She says the holes are very deep and any misstep can cause a nasty fall and serious consequences.
When the newsroom contacted the Port of Spain City Corporation, the Public Relations Department took a report, and said the matter will be addressed.
The resident notes this is the third incident over the years of the covers being stolen.
