Narine Scores First Ever T20 Century

Sunil Narine brought up his first ever T20 century today when the Kolkata Knight Riders took on the Rajasthan Royals in their Tata IPL fixture.

Narine opened the batting, smashing 13 fours and 6 sixes on his way to a blistering 109 from 56 deliveries. Earlier, he raised his bat for a half century, facing 29 deliveries. He then brought up the triple figure mark from 49 balls. He also shared in a 50-run 4th wicket partnership with Andre Russell.

Narine’s previous best was 85, scored earlier this month against the Delhi Capitals.

KKR finished on 223 for 6 from their 20 overs, which was not enough as the Royals got to 224 for 8, pulling off a close win by two wickets. Over the weekend, Narine was asked about his possible return from international retirement for the T20 World Cup, which he responded by saying he will be looking at the games from home.
