NCRHA Hosts CPR Training At Blanchisseuse

The community of Blanchisseuse benefited from First Responder training on Sunday at the Blanchisseuse Community Centre and the Fishing Depot, hosted by the North Central Regional Health Authority (NCRHA).

NCRHA Chief Executive Officer, Davlin Thomas, explained that the training encompasses CPR and wound dressing. He noted the aim of the programme is to ensure that persons are prepared for any eventuality.

Former participant of the NCRHA’s Basic Life Support Training Course and 2018 Hummingbird Medal Bronze recipient, 21 year old Sariah Estrada, encouraged young persons in particular to take advantage of opportunities to learn basic life saving skills. Just 17 at the time, Sariah, a nursing student at the University of the Southern Caribbean, saved a young man’s life by the skills learnt in the one-day course.

The NCRHA CEO assured that these courses will be done on a continual basis.
