New National Minimum Wage Of $20.50 To Take Effect On January 1st 2024

The Minimum wage order has officially been amended, making way for the promised increase.

According to the Ministry of Labour via a media release, effective January 1st 2024, the new National Minimum Wage of Trinidad and Tobago would be $20.50. As a result, no worker should be paid below this Wage in the New Year.

During the presentation of the 2023/2024 National Budget, Finance Minister Colm Imbert proposed the increase from $17.50 per hour to $20.50.
