Next Level Performance Helps Basketball Athletes Land US-Based Scholarships

Next Level Performance established its college multi-sport recruiting platform in January of 2023 and has immediately started providing opportunities for young aspiring collegiate athletes here in Trinidad and Tobago. Next Level Performance objective is to document athletes’ physical improvement by capturing their individual statics, and data and documenting their game footage. This information is used to create profiles of potential student-athletes and professional athletes across sporting disciplines. These profiles and statistics are then loaded to the Next Level Platforms which allows University, College or professional coaches direct access to athlete profiles and allow them to evaluate their skill sets at their fingertips.

With this state of the art platform, the Next Level management has seen significant sign up from team sports as well as Caribbean countries. NLP hosted its first elite basketball skills camp in July 2023 at the St Paul Street Basketball Complex, which saw 26 athletes both male and female registering. The NLP team evaluated and documented each of the athletes and potential scholarship athletes’ profiles were shared with US coaches.  Coming out of the camp NLP has secured two female scholarship opportunities for six-foot-three basketball power forward Julissa Danglade and six-foot-four basketball centre Stephanie Stephen who have both received scholarship opportunities from Danville Area Community College in Illinois. Both athletes are expected to depart Trinidad on the 19th of August to take up their scholarship opportunities. CEO of Next Level Performance Garvin Warwick expressed, “We are super excited for these young ladies, when I established this platform, it was with the intention to give Caribbean athletes the opportunity to be seen by US, Canadian and European coaches. Seeing the fruits of our hard work and investment to establish not only a digital platform but a mobile app, is rewarding. This is only the start as we meet and establish relationships with all sports across not only Trinidad and Tobago but the Caribbean.”

Earlier in May of 2023, the Next Level management team hosted an elite camp in Suriname which saw 31 athletes signing up through the Suriname Basketball Association alongside Move Forward Basketball. These athletes were put through the testing and evaluation process provided by the NLP team. After a high-intensity program over three full days, a number of potential athletes were identified by US-based coach Learie Sandy who is also a member of the NLP management. Monifa Beyde received her Scholarship from Independence Community College in Kansas and Danzell Anantoewe received a scholarship opportunity from Danville Community College in Illinois. Both players have already taken up their scholarship opportunities in the US this semester.  “Our aim is to carry our program to the Caribbean countries as we are hoping to put as many Caribbean athletes in front of US, Canadian and European coaches, not one or two but as many as possible, that’s our model.” expressed Warwick.

Next Level Performance also offers state-of-the-art sports performance training and physical therapy. Their approach incorporates a unique combination of science, education, and motivation that help ensure your ability to achieve the best possible results based on your specific priorities and objectives. According to strength and conditioning lead at NLP, Lincoln Charles, “Our training programs are highly personalized, and specifically designed to address and support each client’s individual goals, health needs and physical capabilities, it’s not a one size fits all approach and therefore both athlete and coaches must buy into the system and allow it to work and see the progress.”
