A nine-month-old baby girl is dead after being fed an insecticide by a female relative.
TTT news understands that the woman has confessed, and is in police custody.
The woman told police around noon on Wednesday, the baby began to cry uncontrollably, and she became frustrated and fed her Malathion insecticide using a syringe.
Shortly after she found the baby unresponsive.
The woman told police she called the ambulance which took the baby girl to the health facility.
She was then transferred to the San Fernando General Hospital where she died around 6:30 pm.
Officers of the Princes Town Police Station and Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region 3 are investigating.
