No Compromise On Security For Carnival

National Security Minister Fitzgerald Hinds is not concerned that security may be compromised for the Carnival period, following a threat of a planned sickout of police officers due to delays in payments of backpay.

Earlier this week, President of the T&T Police Service Social and Welfare Association, Gideon Dickson, said many officers were disenchanted with issues relating to salaries and failure to receive backpay, hinting that Carnival security could be compromised.

Despite such statements, which Minister Hinds labelled as unfortunate, he assured that Carnival security is of utmost importance and that he’s been given the guarantee from the Police Commissioner. Minister Hinds though criticised such comments by the T&T Police Service Social and Welfare Association.
