Notifications have been delivered to the Clerk of the House of Representatives indicating that retired Justice of Appeal Judith Jones and Ms. Marlene Attong have been nominated for appointment to the Police Service Commission.
Confirmation of the latest development came from President’s House on Tuesday. The statement said that after consulting with Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley and Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar by letters dated and delivered on October 7th, 2021, and having received responses from them, President Paula-Mae Weekes issued the notifications of nomination.
Over the past few weeks, the members of the Police Service Commission all resigned from their posts following ongoing matters involving former Police Commissioner, Gary Griffith.
