OJT Celebrates 20 Years

The On the Job (OJT) Training Programme will provide better placement for individuals who enter the system.

Speaking at the OJT’s 20-year anniversary ceremony on Tuesday, Labour Minister Stephen Mc Clashie said the programme has been successful over the years, and recommitted to expanding it even further.

He noted that although the annual rolling average of trainees was reduced over the years from a high of 10,000 per annum to now around 5,000, there is a focus on placing them in their field of technical expertise.

The Minister added that a post analysis will also begin soon to see how successful trainees have been following their stint in the OJT Programme.

A number of trainees were awarded during the ceremony which took place at the Cipriani College of Labour, as well as training providers and long standing staff members from the OJT Division.
