The COVID-19 Omicron variant is not in the community-spread phase in T&T.
Principal Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Maryam Abdool-Richards, confirmed only 12 cases of the variant have been detected in the country.
According to a release from the Ministry of Health on December 19th, one of the confirmed Omicron patients had no recent history of travel or known contact with another Positive COVID-19 case.
