PCA Sends File To DPP

The findings of an investigation into the conduct of several members of both the Inter Agency Task Force and the Western Division have been forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for consideration.

According to a release from the Police Complaints Authority, it stated that an investigation was launched into exercises conducted at the Masjid Al Hudaa, located at Richplain in Diego Martin, on April 22nd and 23rd, 2022.

The PCA said the investigation revealed that the party of officers involved in the exercise that ultimately lead to the death of PC Clarence Gilkes on April 22nd, were involved in egregious acts at the Masjid.

The PCA said having formed the view that criminal offences have been committed, the matter has now been referred to the DPP and the Commissioner of Police.

The PCA said as an independent body, it remains committed to ensuring that no police officer acts above the rule of law.
