PM Rowley Furthers Talks On Food Security And Energy Cooperation With Guyana’s President

Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley met with President of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana, His Excellency Dr. Irfaan Ali, earlier today (Sunday 03 July, 2022).

Both leaders continue to work towards the full implementation of the decisions made during the Prime Minister’s recent trip to Guyana which resulted in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the countries.

Today’s detailed discussions centered on food security and energy cooperation which will benefit both nations and the wider CARICOM.

Prime Minister Rowley, along with other CARICOM Heads of Government, also met with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres.

The meeting focused predominantly on the issues of climate change and energy security.

This afternoon Dr. Rowley will join regional leaders for the official opening ceremony of the 43rd Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of CARICOM.
