Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley said he was quite surprised and disappointed that the issue with the Auditor General happened.
Speaking to the media immediately after returning to Trinidad and Tobago on Sunday from India, Dr. Rowley was asked to comment on the understatement of revenue in the Auditor General’s 2023 financial year report. He said he first learned that there was a problem in March.
Dr. Rowley said despite the ongoing disagreement between the two offices, he is confident that they would still be able to work together for the business of the country.
