A new selection process for the Commissioner of Police will begin soon.
The Police Service Commission (PolSC), will embark on the new process for not only a Commissioner of Police but also a Deputy Commissioner.
In a statement, it advised that after reviewing legal advice, it won’t take any further action on the 2021 selection process for the post of Top Cop.
The Commission said the selection process will take place in accordance with the proper process and procedures for compiling the list of nominees, to comprise a merit list for the office of Commissioner of Police.
Legal Notice 277, as amended by Legal Notice 278, allows the PSC to start a new search for police positions.
