Recycled Art At The Parliament

Thirty artists used recycled products and materials to create pieces that raised awareness about the importance of World Environment Day, which was observed on June 5th.

Speaking during the launch on the exhibition at Parliament on Thursday, Speaker of the House, Bridgid Annisette-George, said the exhibition is an opportunity to invest in the growing community of artistic expression in Trinidad and Tobago. She said the exhibition, which is currently being held in the Rotunda Gallery of the Red House, generally attracts the less established artists in society.

House Speaker Annisette-George added that the purpose of the exhibition was to ignite awareness on ways people could reduce their carbon footprint. She said artists were encouraged to use innovative ways to express their talents.

The exhibition began on June 6th and will run until July 1st.
