Spelling Bee Competition To Promote Literacy In St. Ann’s East Constituency

The National Library and Information System Authority (NALIS) is once again welcoming the hosting of a Spelling Bee Competition being done in collaboration with the St. Ann’s East Constituency Office.

At the opening of the ‘Know Your Country’ Spelling Bee, NALIS Director Primatie Persad said such an event continues to mould children to boost their confidence and holistic development. She also commended the theme ‘Know Your Country’ in which the competition incorporates ‘Trini’ words.

Meanwhile, Member of Parliament for St. Ann’s East and Education Minister, Dr. Nyan Gadsby-Dolly, said this competition has been ongoing for more than five years and continues to promote literacy at a young age.

The competition is open to nine Primary Schools in the St. Ann’s East constituency.
