Three of the fourteen recounts in Monday’s Local Government Elections have been completed.
The Election and Boundaries Commission said in the Cocoyea/Tarouba district, the PNM amassed 1,207 votes, and the UNC 1,162 which meant one more vote for the UNC Candidate Shane Samlal.
In the Marabella South/Vistabella district, the PNM got 873, and the UNC 884. Therefore, the UNC candidate Sasha Tricia Ali received one less vote.
Within the newly-created district of Mayaro North, the PNM amassed 741 votes, the UNC 720, and the Progressive Empowerment Party (PEP) 43. In this district, the PNM candidate Ryan Stewart received one less vote, and the UNC candidate Kristen Thaddeus Townsand received two less votes.
Recounts in the remaining eleven electoral districts are ongoing.
