Tobago Oil Spill Clean-Up Ongoing, No Final Cost Yet

Clean-up operations are ongoing in Tobago as Government, local and foreign agencies continue to contain the hazardous oil spill.

Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley, responding to questions in the Lower House on Friday, said the total cost of the operation cannot be determined at this time.

The Prime Minister noted that tens of thousands of dangerous liquid is still in the hull of the vessel, while 50,000 barrels of liquid waste has been extracted so far from the Coast lines between Scarborough and Cove.
