There has been some relief for Tourism Tour Operators but it hasn’t been quite enough to get them all off the ground.
Lorraine Pouchet of In Joy Tours says that tours for local tourism such as the Gasparee Caves and Fort George for instance need to be addressed.
Ms. Pouchet explains that Government’s input into the tourism sector lies with International marketing of the sector. The private sector she says provides the investment while Government works to get the tourists here.
For a successful tourism industry, she says a collaborative public/private sector arrangement including guiding flights and cruise ships to T&T is needed.
