Trinidad and Tobago’s volleyballers are well on their way to glory at the 18th Caribbean Zonal Volleyball Association Championships in Suriname.
On Wednesday, the defending champion, Calypso Spikers, fell to a shock 3 sets to 2 defeat to Jamaica but will play in tomorrow’s Semis for a spot in Sunday’s Final.
The defeat was a blip as T&T began with a 3-1 win over Barbados, followed with a a 3-0 win over Suriname and played to a 3-2 victory over the Bahamas.
T&T’s Women finished top of their section with 14 points.
The T&T Men’s team finished Pool A on a high with a 3 set to 1 triumph over Curacao last evening.
After losing the first set 23-25, T&T won the next three 25-18, 27-25, 27-25 to top Pool B heading into the Quarter Finals this weekend.
They finished with two wins and a defeat, beating Jamaica 3-1 in the opener then losing 3-2 to the Bahamas.
