Trinidad and Tobago’s first green house gas emission inventory has been handed over to the La Brea Industrial Development Company Limited.
Prepared by the University of Trinidad and Tobago, the inventory includes emissions produced by vessels while they were anchored at, manoeuvring through or berthed at the Port of Brighton.
President of UTT, Professor Prakash Persad said: “this project is the first to incorporate data on” vessel profiles, calls, time in port and cargo throughput measuring carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide
The inventory project began in February and was completed in May.
