USA Thrash T&T

Trinidad and Tobago’s Senior Men’s National Team suffered a joint CONCACAF record 6-0 defeat to defending champions USA on Sunday in their final match of the 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Angus Eve made six changes to his starting lineup as T&T went for a positive result against the Group A leaders.

T&T had the first chance of the match in the 10th minute.

But it was the USA’s Jesus Ferreira who opened the scoring in the 14th, doubling up in the 38th, and getting his sixth of the tournament in third minute of first-half time added on from the spot – his second hat-trick in as many Gold Cup matches.

Shannon Gomez hit the post in the 62nd, but three minutes later Cade Cowell and Gianluca Busio scored their first senior goals for the US in the 65th and 79th minutes. And in the 5th minute of time added on, Brandon Vasquez sealed USA’s top spot in the Group.
