Walcott Has Surgery To Repair Achilles Tendon

Olympic Javelin Gold and Bronze Medallist Keshorn Walcott has had surgery to repair his Achilles tendon in Finland.

Walcott ruptured his Achilles last Friday, on the eve of qualification for the Javelin at the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

After discussion with his team, Walcott said the decision was made to have the surgery done by Dr. Lasse Lempainen, an Orthopedic Surgeon who specialises in lower extremities in Finland.

Walcott added that the surgery was a success and thanked Dr. Lempainen for fitting him into his busy schedule along with the excellent care given to him.

The London 2012 Gold and Rio 2016 Bronze Medallist said the focus now is on healing and getting back on the runway once again.
