West Indies Show Fight In 2nd Test Against India

The West Indies continued their diligent work on Day 2 of the Second Test being played at the Queen’s Park Oval both with bat and ball.

India were bowled out for 438 just after 2:30pm. Virat Kholi celebrated his 29th Test century, top scoring with 121. Ravi Ashwin had a late order input of 56 before being the last wicket to go down.

The Windies bowlers were consistent in their approach and they looked much better on the second day. This paid dividends for Jomel Warrican finishing as the top bowler, grabbing three wickets for 89 runs while Kemar Roach had 3 for 104.

The Windies then took to the crease for their first innings with both Kraig Brathwaite and Tagenarine Chanderpaul looking solid. The pair turned over 71 before Chanderpaul was caught for 33. The Windies faced 41 overs before the stumps were drawn, finishing the day on a credible 86 for 1 with Brathwaite not out on 37 and debutante Kirk McKenzie not out on 14.

Play resumes at 10am on Saturday.
