WI U-19 Women Cricketers Fall To USA

The West Indies Women’s U19 squad met the United States in the first game of their five-match T20 International Series on Monday, at the Broward County Stadium in Florida.

The West Indies batted first and were restricted to 79 for 7 in their turn at the wicket. Djenaba Joseph top scored for the regional team with 27 from 44 deliveries, with the next high score coming from Shalini Samaroo with 16. Ritu Singh was the best bowler for the USA with figures of 3 for 9 in three overs.

Despite a small wobble in the middle of the chase, the United States cruised to the target in 16.3 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. Tya Gonsalves top scored for them with 21 off 25 balls. Game 2 of the series is currently being contested in Broward County.
