TTPS Investigating Viral Voice Note Involving WPC And Robbery Victim

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service has launched an investigation into an audio message currently circulating on social media, with the appropriate disciplinary action to follow.

The viral voice note is reportedly that of a police officer at the St. Joseph Police Station and an unidentified man who was making a report.

Commissioner of Police, Erla Harewood-Christopher apologises to the victim in the matter and gives the assurance to the public that every effort will be made to prevent a recurrence of such an incident. The Police Commissioner is condemning any instance of poor customer service by police officers during the conduct of their duties. And says any instance of poor customer service will be deemed unacceptable and will not be condoned by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.

She says senior officers at all police stations are responsible for ensuring that all reports made, whether by telephone or in person, are accurately and immediately recorded and that officers take prompt action where necessary.

The Police Commissioner is advising members of the public not satisfied that this protocol is being followed, to immediately seek an audience with the officer in charge of the station.
